April 13 -18th we were off to Florida for a CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) Convention being held in Ft. Lauderdale. Cruise3Sixty is a travel agents conference to learn about and view ships (ship inspections) that port in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami.
The morning after our arrival we took a bus to the Sawgrass Recreation Park in the South Florida Everglades located on US Highway 27. We took an airboat tour through the Everglades. We were only able to see one small alligator that was hiding in the marsh. However, we saw many species of birds. After the airboat tour we walked over to the Swamp Yard Exhibit and Wildlife Exhibit to see many various animals. Anything from Crocodiles, Alligators, Roosters, Chickens, Peacocks, Iguanas, Burmese Python, Pot-bellied pigs, Ducks, a Black Leopard, as well as a Florida Panther to name a few. They even have baby alligators that you can take a photograph with while holding one. They call it the “Hold a Baby Alligator” experience.

While in Ft. Lauderdale I had to try out the Sublime Restaurant and Bar located at 1431 N. Federal Hwy. It’s a gourmet all natural and organic Vegan dining experience with a great calming atmosphere. We started out with Crispy Eggplant Rollatini which was probably my favorite. Then we had the Bbq Cheddar Brick Oven Pizza and the Enchiladas. For dessert we had the Chocolate Macaroons and Apple Crumb Pie a la Mode. Everything was very tasty and had interesting textures and flavors. I probably wouldn’t try the Enchiladas again. I wasn’t too excited about those. But everything else was worth having over again.
